11.12.2008 Creative Review

When I first started out on my own working under “The Ronin” one of my goals that I set for myself each year was to be recognised by one of the design industries leading publications - Creative Review. Now 8 years later (after a brief flirtation a couple of years ago with being nominated for one of the Creative Future awards until they realised I was over 30 years old!), I have managed to get a paragraph and image in an article on Flash on the Beach for my work on the title sequence! Thanks to Andy Polaine for the kind words!

04.12.2008 The Motion Graphics Issue

A little bit late with this news but recently Computer Arts Projects (Issue 117) was/is a Motion Graphics issue and luckily I have been featured across 7 pages for my work on title sequences for both the Webby’s and the Flash on the Beach conference!

01.10.2008 Left Unsaid

Another update. Left Unsaid. Invited by the ever patient Connor Swegle as one of twenty directors to create short films of 120 seconds duration for the Twenty 120 project (which co-incidentally went live about 2 months ago!) my piece is FINALLY completed! The above is one of the many shots that make up the fully live action film which is based on the theme of the project - truth and deception.

29.09.2008 New Site New Work

Finally, The Ronin has been updated using Suprb’s customised Indxr… also check out the Flash on the Beach title sequence in the motion section which was first shown at the conference this morning! Audio by Hecq. Further updates to the site later this week.

24.09.2008 Relaunch 5 days and counting!

Sorry for the blog being down for a few days, been having some work done on the new site by the man himself Mr Suprb! The new site is being built with Indxr and relaunch is set for Monday during the Flash on the Beach conference in Brighton! I’m speaking on the last day and will be showing the new titles for the conference! There will also be a surprise guest all the way from Berlin by the name of Hecq to speak about our collaborative work! Hope to see some of you there!

28.08.2008 Finally… OFFF Lisbon titles

Following the Devoid of Yesterday talk and title sequence at OFFF New York myself and Chris were invited to again both speak and present a new title sequence for the Lisbon event in May 2008. Rather than just repeat the previous titles we decided to shoot various sea life in a studio using macro lenses to act as a metaphor for the conference both taking place in Portugal and to have a closer look at the speakers and their way of thinking. Shot over a day and finalised over an eternity with audio by Ben Lukas Boysen. Special thanks to Charles Lee for helping out with the shoot!
